Apprendiamo dal sito di ESPN (www.espn.com) che e’ stata rilasciato il calendario degli eventi del prossimo WSOP con tutti i dettagli ufficiali. Ci saranno 58 eventi che andranno avanti dal 31 maggio al 19 luglio. Una lunga maratona di poker di altissimo livello che coinvolgera’ i professionisti ed i semplici appassionati di tutto il mondo. Una manifestazione che ha creato miti del poker ed ha regalato sponsorizzazioni a comuni amanti del poker on line che hanno visto coronare il loro sogno di divenire professionisti. Il direttore delle WSOP, Jack Effel, alla domanda “Come sara’ il WSOP quest’anno”, ha risposto cosi’: “Qualcosa per tutti è il modo migliore per descrivere le World Series of Poker del 2011. E’ straordinario pensare che solo lo scorso anno le WSOP hanno ospitato nove dei 17 maggiori tornei nella storia del poker. Abbiamo avuto 44 eventi che hanno generato un montepremi di oltre un milione di dollari ciascuno. Non vediamo l’ora di ripetere questi grandi numeri ed offrire nuovamente il poker piu’ bello del pianeta”. La 42esima edizione comincera’ con l’evento $500 Casino Events a mezzogiorno (ora americana di Las Vegas) del 31 maggio, evento questo dedicato agli impiegati del casino, vale a dire gli eroi che per tutta la kermesse dovranno assicurarsi che tutto all’intermo del casino sia perfetto. Poi tutti gli occhi saranno puntati sul secondo evento della giornata, di recente istituzione, l’evento $25.000 Heads-Up. Con una capacità di 256 giocatori, questo sarà l’evento heads-up più costoso nella storia delle WSOP e vedra’ impegnata l’elite del gioco poker. L’evento $50.000 Poker Players’ Championship continuera’ ad essere il piu’ prestigioso nel calendario e avra’ luogo alcuni giorni prima del main event. Con il successo degli eventi di 1.000 dollari negli ultimi due anni, il WSOP ha continuato questa tendenza con un piccolo twist. Lo scorso anno il WSOP ha offerto eventi di mille dollari il sabato e la domenica; quest’anno, con il tema del WSOP “Weekend Warriors”, ci sarà un evento di 1.500 dollari ogni sabato di giugno e un evento $ 1.000 ogni domenica. Il più grande torneo di poker live dell’anno, l’evento principale di 10 mila dollari, avrà luogo a partire dal 7 luglio ed andra’ avanti per ben quattro giorni fino al 19 luglio. Gli ultimi nove giocatori rimasti, i mitici “November Nine”, torneranno a Las Vegas e competere per il braccialetto dal 5 al 7 novembre. Il tavolo finale sarà trasmesso su ESPN l’8 novembre.
